My name is Alexis. I’m a creative director and experience design strategist. I find purpose in helping humans unlock their full potential. I’m a designer, writer, and leader — but most of all, I’m a storyteller.

Reach out to me if you are interested in working together.

I’m based in the Charlotte area. You can usually find me at the park or the library.

After graduating with a degree in advertising, I built a career in user experience.

I’ve worked on both customer-facing e-commerce experiences as well as employee-focused internal applications at scale for the enterprise. Over time, I’ve maintained a fascination with people: what drives us, how we make decisions, and our innate desire for control. I’ve studied the psychology of habit formation and sharpened communication skills — especially in visual design and writing — that make an effective designer, client-relationship manager, and leader.

This curiosity is what continuously inspires me to design experiences that leave business leaders feeling satisfied and end users empowered.

Creative direction

I establish guidelines and strategy for an organization of over 100 experience designers, managing a team that owns our enterprise design system and conducts internal reviews for quality control. I provide oversight on visual design, content strategy, and brand management.

Design strategy

I follow a human-centered approach to design and utilize design thinking methodologies (including workshop facilitation) to create alignment among stakeholders. This ensures we are in agreement on what problem needs to be solved before spending resources to develop any unnecessary or ineffective solutions.

Leadership

I would describe my leadership style as driven by curiosity. Before instructing or coaching, I always ask “why,” and I find this genuine assumption of positive intent builds trust and integrity within my team.

Along with creating designs to inspire and delight, I convey the impact of our work through communications like case studies, newsletters, and presentation to senior leaders that garner interest, create awareness, and spark new business.

My greatest success lies in my ability to inspire and innovate creatively, in heavily regulated environments with highly complex technology landscapes. Yes, I focus on the human side of things. But I also drive business value in alignment with strategic initiatives to drive growth and efficiency with a realistic pulse on my client’s current risk appetite and priority.

Driving innovation while managing risk well.
